Leander Westerbeek van Eerten | Experience Trainer
With the diagnosis of autism in as my proverbial backpack, I have been working as an advisor and certified trainer & assessor in the field of work integration for several years now. I work with people with autism who participate in the labour force. In my work, I am mainly concerned with the communication between management / coaches and employees with autism. I also provide courses/information sessions and carry out work evaluations. In addition to my work, I actively enjoy being involved in various projects, think tanks and pilots in the field of autism.
Autism came into my life under the label ‘limitation’ years ago, but today I earn my living with it. After years of struggling I no longer feel limited by my autism, but I constantly keep an eye on it and do not lose sight of it. In fact, we just go ‘hand-in-hand’ through life. Hatred/love and inseparable. Awareness has always been the basis for me to develop compensation mechanisms and efficient coping strategies. I take satisfaction from playing an active role in stimulating and creating (more) awareness in others. Both in people with autism and those around them. After all, you are never the only actor in your life.
